Zillow alternatives, compared
Different sites make money in different ways, which shapes what they show you. Use at least two.
| Site | Owner | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Redfin | Rocket Companies | Buyers who want a brokerage with in-house agents | Strongest where Redfin agents work |
| Realtor.com | Move, Inc. (News Corp) | Listings fed from local MLS data | Fewer extra tools than Zillow |
| Trulia | Zillow Group | Neighborhood info and crime maps | Same owner and much of the same data |
| Homes.com | CoStar Group | Neighborhood guides | Different traffic and agent model |
| Apartments.com | CoStar Group | Apartment search | Apartment focus, not single-family sales |
| Your local MLS site | Local brokers | Freshest status and details | Interface varies |
How to choose
If you want one site for everything, Zillow is the broadest. If you want a brokerage experience, check Redfin. If you want listing data straight from MLS feeds, use Realtor.com or your local MLS site. For rentals, use more than one platform, since not every landlord lists everywhere.
