Is Zillow free to use?
For buyers and renters, yes. Landlords and agents have free and paid options. See the Cost page.
How accurate is the Zestimate?
Third-party coverage of Zillow's March 2025 data reported median errors of about 1.94% for on-market homes and 7.06% for off-market homes. Half of homes miss by more than the median. It is not an appraisal.
Who owns Zillow?
Zillow is operated by Zillow Group, Inc., a public company based in Seattle. It also owns Trulia, StreetEasy and HotPads.
How does Zillow make money?
Mainly from agents and advertisers who pay for exposure and referrals, plus rentals and mortgage products.
Is Zillow a real estate agent?
No. Zillow is a marketplace. Agents you meet through it are independent professionals and may be paying advertisers.
Can I fix wrong details on my home?
You can claim your home and update facts such as beds, baths and square footage. Check Zillow's help pages for current options on estimates.
Is it free to list a rental?
Zillow describes basic rental listings as free, with a paid Premium listing available. Property managers may have different rules.
Is Zillow Offers still around?
No. Zillow announced the closure of its home-buying program in November 2021.
Are rental listings verified?
Not always. Verify ownership and never pay before seeing the unit. See the scam checklist.
Is Zillow It part of Zillow?
